  1. Back in the days when I used to work for the British Library and give talks about Trade Publications, I had a stack of examples of Bizarre Ways in which Companies Present Their Annual Results. In their attempts to make their charts look interesting in the annual reports, companies would do things like having variously sized images of their board members representing bars on the chart for Sales Growth, or fountains spouting to different levels, or suggestive vegetables lined up (think asparagus and carrots) for year on year profitability.
    These were the happy days of the 1980s/90s when companies could afford sumtuous printed reports; I assume currently they would be using pictures of recycled matchsticks.
